  • Kanagawa University, Yokohama, Japan 2018 (International Studies, Political Science And History)

    Celebrating its 90th anniversary Kanagawa University has contributed to the development and prosperity of society by producing skilled graduates who have entered the business and other fields. The University has evinced keen interest in Student Exchange Programme. A team from the Kanagawa University visited CHRIST in early 2018 to explore the possibilities of further collaborations and academic exchanges. A draft of the MOU has been exchanged with the visiting team which would be finalised in due course.

  • Delegation from the University of Leicester 2018 (International Studies, Political Science And History)

    Venue: Conference Room, Central Block, Christ (Deemed to be University)

    A delegation comprising Dr PrashanthKidambi and Dr Ruth Young from the University of Leicester visited the Department of International Studies and History on 24 July 2018. All the Department’s faculty were in attendance. After the initial presentations of each institutions, the discussion centred on various academic collaboration. The main areas for collaboration identified were: collaborative research, student exchanges, participation in distance learning, twining programmes, joint consultancy projects, visiting fellowships and doctoral and post-doctoral opportunities for students. The visiting delegation expressed satisfaction at the outcome and has agreed to have follow-up meetings and sign a memorandum of understanding. The delegation also called on the Pro-Vice Chancellor and the Head of the University’s Foreign Cell.

  • Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), New Delhi 2018 (International Studies, Political Science And History)

    The Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), New Delhi is an autonomous think-tank dealing with national security and conceptual aspects of land warfare, including conventional, sub-conventional conflict and terrorism. CLAWS has been providing internship opportunity to the students of the Department every summer. CLAWS and the Department collaborated in the academic year 2015-16 on a conference on ‘National Security’ held at Christ Central campus, Bangalore.

  • Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS), New Delhi 2018 (International Studies, Political Science And History)

    The Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS) is an autonomous defence research and analysis body for studies, research and focused analyses of issues related to national security, defence, and aerospace issues in the evolving strategic and international security environment. CAPS has been offering internship to the students of the Department every summer. CAPS and the Department, along with NIAS have come together for hosting a national seminar on ‘Nuclear India: Revisiting Issues, Challenges and Threats’ at Christ in August 2017.

  • Hanns Seidel Foundation India (International Studies, Political Science And History)

    HANNS SEIDEL FOUNDATION INDIA

    The department has collaboration with Hanns Seidel Foundation India on following areas:

    • Contribution for dept blog
    • Teaming up for lecture series on International Relations, if E.U. or Germany are involved.
    • Funding Block Workshop on Federalism.
    • Scholarship opportunities for those students who would like to pursue M.Phil., Ph. D or M.A in Germany.
  • Indian Council of World Affairs,New Delhi- June 2020 (International Studies, Political Science And History)

    On June 2020, Department of International Studies, Political Science and History, CHRIST (Deemed To Be University) has signed an MoU with Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), New Delhi, which has been declared as an institution of national importance in 2001 by an Act of the Parliament. This MoU partnership has been concluded for joint events, capacity buildings, internships, awareness creation etc.

  • Ashoka University – Harvard Yenching Institute -July 2020 (International Studies, Political Science And History)

    The Department of International Studies, Political Science and History, CHRIST (Deemed To Be University) signed a MoU with Ashoka University – Harvard Yenching Institute. This MoU is to build academic and research resources on China Studies and related areas as a thriving discipline. It will also enable the department to create new knowledge in India about different countries, particularly on China. The MoU will help the department to provide promising scholars studying China with the opportunity to share their work and knowledge with a wider audience through Lectures, Courses, and Publications and enhance research opportunities for young post-doctoral scholars. As per the provisions of the MoU, CHRIST will enrol and host postdoctoral fellow(s) selected through China Studies Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme in collaboration with Ashoka. The Parties of MoU shall collaborate on knowledge exchange and joint study by the Faculty Members/Research Fellows of their designated Departments of relevant discipline leading to joint publications, joint conferences/workshops and student/staff exchanges

    This collaboration with Ashoka University – Harvard Yenching Institute is a new addition to the department list of collaborations with other premier institutions.

  • International Tie-ups (Sociology And Social Work)

    The Department of Sociology and Social Work at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has extensive national and international tie-ups and MoUs that aid best of learning exposure to the students and the faculty members of the department and university. These collaborations often result in the sharing of knowledge, expertise, and gain new perspectives through faculty-student exchanges and collaborative researches.

  • University Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia (Statistics and Data Science)

    On 18th March 2023, the esteemed Dr. R. U. Gopithaasan from University Malaysia Terengganu graced the Department of Statistics and Data Science with his presence. He delivered an insightful lecture on “A Journey through Topological Data Analysis”. Subsequent discussions focused on forging collaborative ventures in research and projects.

    In this project’s initial phase of preprocessing, efforts are concentrated on establishing content validity. This is followed by meticulous data cleaning and a thorough check for internal consistency, specifically utilizing Chronbach’s alpha. The subsequent stage involves exploratory data analysis (EDA). During this phase, there is a focused attempt to perform EDA, ensuring the identification and careful selection of the most suitable features. The process then advances to model building and validation. This encompasses the identification of the most fitting machine learning algorithms, leading to the development of appropriate models and their corresponding validation. In the final stage, the emphasis is on interpreting and reporting the outcomes. This involves a comprehensive interpretation of the results and the preparation of the concluding report.
